Thank you for considering WordLink. We look forward to hearing from you!
Queries
Do not send a manuscript with your query.
Send your query to the agent you think would be most interested in your work. If an agent is closed to queries, please respect the agent’s status.
If you’re not sure which agent is best for your project, feel free to submit the query form or email your query to submissions@wordlink.us.
Indicate title, genre, and word count in the query email subject line. Include your phone number in the email.
Please indicate if the manuscript is complete or still in progress.
FICTION: The email should include your pitch, author bio, comps, and the first chapter. You may include a synopsis with the query. Embed all in the email, no attachments please.
NON-FICTION: The email should include your pitch, book proposal, and author bio. Proposal may be an attached doc. or docx. file. Please research proposal formatting prior to submission.
We aim to respond to all queries, but due to the large number we receive, it’s not always possible. If you don’t hear from us within six weeks, the query has been rejected.
If we are interested in your work, we will ask for a partial or full manuscript. Please follow the guidance below.
Manuscript Requirements
Send full or partial manuscript, or sample chapters as the agent requests. Send only as Word doc. or docx. attachment, unless we ask for a different format.
Do not send a draft manuscript. Ensure your work has been thoroughly edited. We don’t expect a pristine manuscript; however, we will not edit it while we’re reading it. Poorly edited manuscripts will be rejected.
Format your manuscript properly. If necessary, consult online resources to ensure your manuscript is formatted properly. We will not reformat the manuscript while we’re reading it. Authors whose manuscripts are formatted for A4 paper, we will ask you to reformat the manuscript to 8.5x11 before we place the manuscript on submission.
Film or Television Queries
Email your query to Dean Krystek.
In the subject line, include the project name and whether it is a theatrical / television film or series.
In the body, provide a brief synopsis of the project, genre, source material (published book, unpublished manuscript, original story, etc.), and whether you have an agent for the source material. If the source material has been published, you must have film rights to the work, or the publisher must agree to WordLink representing the rights.
We do not represent stand-alone scripts. We will consider scripts if part of a presentation package which includes a pitch deck, sizzle real, or bible for which you have the rights.
Rights Inquiries
Put the title of the work, author, and "rights query" in the subject line. Send it to Dean Krystek.
Clearly state the rights in which you are interested and the contact information for the interested third-party.
General Inquiries
Identify the nature of your email in the subject line (question, request, comment, interview, etc.) and send to the appropriate agent.
We endeavor to answer all emails promptly (although query letters can take longer to be properly considered). However, please be advised that certain emails are deleted automatically and will not receive a response. These include:
